This morning we left around 9 and went to The College of DuPage with Sarah. Sarah is one of my 5 roommates and she is in charge of college outreach and ministry connected with TIBM. COD (College of DuPage) is about 15 minutes from where we're staying. We drive through Wheaton every day which is home of Wheaton College where people like Billy Graham and Jim Elliot studied. They have a mini-museum with manuscripts and things from the homes of my beloved Inklings as well as Madeline L'Engle, so the first chance I get I'm heading out there to explore. It'll be one of the most joyful days here for my nerdy side.
But back to DuPage- it's a community college and a commuter college, but it has about 30,000 students in the regular school year. And apparently several thousand in the summer. Like, probably still more than MC's total enrollment. It's a really neat place. We did some prayer walking, talked to a person or two, and just kinda meditated on the Word in the morning hours. Took a break to eat Little Ceasar's for lunch and then went to the other side of campus where the ESL dept is located and prayed that God would bless the ministry TIBM is hoping to start in that area soon.
This evening we have some uncharacteristic free time, but we'll be heading to the Lorance's house for fun night (I've been informed that they call business meetings FunFest, so I'm a little uncertain on the flexibility of the definition of fun here). Katherine is cooking for us though, which should be yummy. Oh, and Sarah cooked breakfast for us this morning! Yay Sarah!
Perhaps this post every day thing is still not the best idea. I have got to learn to be more concise. Kronk the kitty is sleeping next to me, and he wishes I'd quit typing, so I'm gonna go now. Happy day, friends! And don't forget to pray for Ammie as she's taking off to Peru right now!
I love you.
