Well, my Chicago summer is technically over, but thank you for your prayers. This summer will forever be a time I look back on and think of the many ways in which it changed my life. Each day I still think of my time there and my friends there and realize more ways in which God is teaching me and using me here as a result of what I learned there. To Him alone be all the glory!

snails put me to shame
So...(I start too many posts with "so...") I do my best thinking in the shower and in my sleep. Strange, but true. And this morning in the shower I was thinking. First off, I've been kinda frustrated with my quiet times lately. Or lack thereof, at some points. Katherine was telling us a few weeks ago to not undervalue the reading and prayer times we have "assigned" or that we're doing for work. And so I've been trying to logically discern what exactly qualified for personal time with Jesus and that sort of thing. And so I was real confused. Obviously. And then, this morning I was thinking and I realized how stupid that was. And I heard Jesus kinda rebuking me and being like, "don't you WANT to spend time with me, child?" and I realized how stupidly legalistic I was being. It made me really sad. Do I not WANT to spend time with my Daddy? Why would I have to try and figure out how much time I should spend with him daily? Why am I so often talking ABOUT Him instead of talking TO Him? So I apologized. Thankfully, He is slow to anger and abounding in mercy. Good thing, too. I can be so slow...
