ch-ch-ch-changes

Well, it is certainly true that I should be working on a paper right now, but who wants to do that, ya know? So instead, I thought I'd give the blog bubble an update on my life.
My dad still has his job. That's pretty exciting. Life is still a bit special, but I'm really proud of my dad for sticking in there and fighting the good fight. God's been with our family in this and I think we'll see some great results from this less than ideal circumstance for a long time to come. Sure, it's still gonna be hard. But "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His steadfast love endures forever!"

In other news, I'm a senior.
Seriously though! I'm a senior! Isn't that weird? But there are some big things that come along with being a senior, and one of those is deciding what you want to do with your life. See, there's this thing that comes after college; it's called life. And well...I haven't had any plans for mine for a while now. That started to make me a tiny bit nervous, but I had some options that I was considering. A few weeks into the semester I changed my major back to English from English Edu because I was just really not feeling the teacher thing. I started talking to folks with InterVarsity about working for them, but the more I looked into it, the more I didn't feel right for the position we'd discussed. So I was back to square one. No real plans.
So one night at Kaleo we had a missions emphasis night and the Kysers were talking about how excited they were about going to Malawi next year and teaching and all of a sudden I was really excited too. I'd been feeling all semester like God was putting Africa on my heart and I'd been looking for opportunities to go. So, I started talking to Jill and Jeremy and Mrs. Jan about Malawi. And then I met some missionaries who are already there. And then I started looking all over the ABC website. (www.africanbiblecolleges.org if you'd like to look too.) And well...
ahhhh! it was just crazy! And it still is! But I really think the Lord might be leading me to teach jr high English at the ABC Acadamy in Lilongwe, Malawi. Talk about crazy! And to top it all off, I'm pretty sure he's leading Aly there as well. I'm still kinda speechless and in awe about all of this.
Then today, I talked to Bill with InterVarsity. Turns out, Nick's leaving MC IV staff, so ISF is gonna need someone to come in and take over next year. And I could feasibly probably do that. Just yesterday I was talking to my friend Derek about some of the desires we and others have for MC and about things we want to see happen. I told Aly earlier in the year that I would LOVE to just come live in a small house in Clinton and love students on campus. And this would pretty much provide me a chance to do exactly that. Love people at MC. Reach out to the needy and forgotten. Possibly even reach unreached people groups with the gospel. I mean, we've got Indian and Nepali students here that probably belong to unreached people groups. And I would have time and resources to do something about it.

So here I am. Two options. Both incredible.
One me. One omnipresent omniscient God.
Good things are coming, friends.
Pray for me.
and Pray that the Lord will send workers unto the harvest. oh, how plentiful it is!
